Q&A Vianat
Foshu bioactive drinks from chokeberry took part in nutritional and clinical trials with in sick people (with arterial hypertension). Combining the right diet with consuming 1 cup of Foshu drink daily positively influenced their health. However, it should be borne in mind that the effects of each nutrient i non-nutritional effects on the body is an individual matter. Scientists have proved that the incidence of civilization diseases can be significantly reduced by selection a proper diet, especially rich in bioactive ingredients. However, they often occur they in low concentration, which limits their effectiveness. At the same time, the body human is not used to such a large, concentrated dose of bioactive substances substances, hence, when consuming them at the beginning, various reactions may occur metabolic. The activity of polyphenolic compounds after their consumption depends mainly on changes in the digestive tract and the structure of their metabolites. Dietary antioxidants support intracorporeal factors neutralization of free radicals. So, both our metabolism and absorption Polyphenolic compounds from the digestive system will affect the manner and degree their impact on the human body. Polyphenol absorption efficiency in our digestive tract is a derivative of many factors, including molecular weight a given compound, the hydrophilicity of the compound, the degree of its polymerization or the type of sugar in molecule, as well as the pH of the environment. Important role in digesting compounds The intestinal microflora also has polyphenols. Hence our welfare will depend on the condition of our intestinal microflora and metabolism. In case of serious medical conditions gastric disorders, it is worth consulting with the attending physician. A natural property chokeberry fruit and their preserves stimulate the secretion of gastric juice. Of this therefore, they are not recommended in the case of gastric ulcers and acidity, and in reflux gastroesophageal. Moreover, chokeberry has a strong antihypertensive effect, therefore people struggling with low blood pressure should be careful about the dose, w used by every chokeberry product.
During the Bioactive Food project at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, new bioactive food with programmed health-promoting properties was designed. The products were manufactured with the use of appropriate technologies and verified during nutritional tests with the participation of people with the appropriate disease entity, where their functional features were checked for a specified period of time in selected clinics. After comparative tests and assessment of the patient’s condition before and after the use of a given product in relation to the selected disease, it was possible to apply for a health declaration.
In nutritional and clinical studies, the polyphenols in Foshu Aronia have shown a positive effect on various factors of cardiovascular diseases. In patients people consuming a glass (250 ml) of Foshu chokeberry a day for 4 weeks, the results of the research have significantly improved, including the content of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (bad) and triacylglycerols in the blood decreased, and the level of HDL cholesterol (good) increased and the level of blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic, decreased. Referring to Foshu Aronia + Beetroot, the beneficial effect is when 1.5 g of betaine is consumed per day. This is a safe dose for the body, however, be careful because a daily intake of more than 4 g can significantly increase blood cholesterol levels. Due to the research results obtained, it is recommended to regularly and systematically consume the Foshu drink for a minimum of 4 weeks in order to notice the improvement of health parameters. However, it is also important to take care of a proper diet and individual verification of test results before and after. It is recommended to contact the attending physician.
It is a food that has a documented beneficial effect on human health over the nutritional effect. This means that it is characterized by the content of biologically active ingredients that show health-promoting, therapeutic and prophylactic properties.
Due to the still recorded increase in people suffering from diet-related diseases of civilization, the FAO and WHO organizations in the Codex Alimentarius, among the methods of nutritional intervention, mentioned primarily increasing the supply and range of foodstuffs that are a natural source of deficient ingredients, as well as enriching food in the Codex Alimentarius. missing nutrients and bioactive ingredients with properties that support or restore the physiological balance in the body (homeostasis) and show pro-health effects. Hence, it is so important to regularly use bioactive food and provide the body with the appropriate dose of bioactive substance necessary to maintain effective action. In this way, we will have a real impact on our health and well-being.
The abbreviation foshu, although not widely used among European consumers, when translated from English foods for specified health use, means food for special health purposes. In the scientific literature on food, this term does not appear until the end of the 1990s. All thanks to the Japanese, who were the first, and so far the only one in the world, to create the legal framework for the development of this food category. Depending on the country in the world, nutritionists and food technologists use popular names for foshu as therapeutic or pharmaceutical food, nutraceuticals or a much wider conceptual category – functional food.
The label of a bioactive product should contain a health claim – in the form of words or with a graphic element, which distinguishes it from other products nutritional. This statement confirms the proven beneficial effect on the basis of scientific research, nutritional and clinical research.
Manufacturers can place nutrition and health claims on the labels of their products, in accordance with EU regulations. A claim is a message that states, suggests or implies that a food has special properties. Nutrition claims refer to the nutritional value of the product and directly relate to the composition of the product, while health claims communicate that there is a relationship between the food category, food ingredient and health. Proven Effect – Beneficial effects on one or more body functions should be confirmed by scientific research.
Chokeberry, among other berries, has the highest content of polyphenols – mainly anthocyanins. These compounds show strong antioxidant activity in the body, protecting it against oxidative stress caused by the generation and accumulation of free oxygen radicals in cells. Oxidative stress contributes to the development of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, cataracts, inflammatory diseases of the osteoarticular system (rheumatism), autoimmune diseases, cancer and the aging process. Red beet, on the other hand, is rich in betalain pigments. Due to the presence of betalain, red beet is among the top 10 vegetables with the strongest antioxidant properties. In addition, they exhibit anti-cancer properties, take part in cell detoxification and removal of xenobiotics (induction and activation of detoxifying enzymes in the liver) and have the ability to penetrate bacterial cells, which inhibits their growth and multiplication.
The degradation process of polyphenols is not clear-cut and depends on their type and processing conditions. The degradation of polyphenols is accelerated by long-term thermal treatment and high temperature, as well as the access of light and oxygen.
Foshu drinks are preserved by pasteurization. Their shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture. The date of minimum durability is stated on the label of each product
natural sediment appears. In addition, the product contains small amounts of ground flax seeds, which can also settle to the bottom.
The Foshu drink is created using a unique technology that allows you to maintain the highest content of bioactive substances in the final product. The technology is covered by patent protection, developed in Poland as part of a research and development project co-financed by the European Union. Homemade chokeberry preserves most often require the addition of a large amount of white sugar due to the tartness of these fruits. Our drinks do not contain sugar at all, but only trace amounts (0.03%) of a natural sweetener isolated from the plant (steviol glycosides), which does not adversely affect health. And they are delicious!
Foshu drinks are not sweetened with white sugar or artificial sweeteners. However, due to the natural tartness of chokeberry, we add trace amounts (0.03%) of the natural sweetener isolated from the plant – steviol glycosides.
You do not have to worry! Flax seed has a number of health benefits. They contain many compounds that have an impact on counteracting civilization diseases. These include alpha-linolenic acid, lignans and other polyphenols, as well as fiber. These ingredients have a prophylactic role against some chronic non-infectious diseases (diabetes, atherosclerosis, hormone-dependent neoplasms). Moreover, flax seeds are the richest source of lignans (6.1-28.8 mg / g), which show a weak estrogenic activity in mammals. In plants, these compounds are secondary metabolites, acting, inter alia, in protective role against the action of viruses and bacteria. Lignans have a multidirectional effect on the human body, incl. they can counteract the occurrence and development of hormone-dependent neoplasms, as well as prevent osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
Scientific research does not indicate harmful effects of chokeberry in pregnant women. However, preventively pregnant women should not drink more than one glass of chokeberry juice a day. The same goes for women who are breastfeeding. It is worth consulting with the attending physician.
Yes, you can drink Foshu Aronia. Consuming chokeberry juice does not cause sudden jumps in blood sugar, on the contrary – it regulates blood glucose (reduces the absorption of simple sugars in the intestine and the glycemic index values) and increases the synthesis and secretion of insulin from the pancreas. In addition, our drinks do not contain white sugar, only those naturally occurring in raw materials. We only add a natural sweetener (steviol glycosides), which is recommended for diabetics because it does not raise blood glucose levels. During the nutritional and clinical trials, the Foshu Aronia drink was administered to diabetics. However, remember that any chronic disease, including diabetes, requires consultation with your doctor when you introduce new eating habits.
Our drinks do not contain gluten. And they are vegan!
The black chokeberry shrub is characterized by low soil requirements and high resistance to frost, diseases and pests. As a result, the cultivation of chokeberry can be carried out ecologically, without the use of agrochemical preparations. Aronia fruits are very resistant to mechanical damage. In addition, they do not accumulate heavy metals such as: cadmium, lead, arsenic, tin, or toxins. It is difficult to find a plant with a greater number of benefits, not only health, but also cultivation! We are currently applying for ecological certification.
The HACCP system is implemented in the production plant. During production, we follow the principles of good manufacturing and hygienic practice. We do everything to ensure that the product you receive is safe and brings you only benefits!
